Farmers Market Relaunch
Farmers Market Relaunch this Saturday 14th October.
Frome has over the last few years been punching above its weight on the food scene with amazing food outlets, cafes and the nationally renowned Frome Independent of which Somerset Farmers market runs its own food section. However many newcomers to the town don’t realise that the original Frome Farmers Market has now been running at the Cheese & Grain for nearly 2 decades and takes place on the 2nd Saturday of the month from 9am-1pm .
The market has held close to its original principles of enabling farmers and food producers to develop a strong local customer base. Over the years the market has helped to launch many award winning food businesses whilst developing trusting relationships between customer and producer.
However with so many new faces arriving in Frome we realised that many folk did not realise we existed so it was timely that local solicitors Thatcher and Hallam approached us to help raise the markets profile.
So this October sees the market welcoming customers with an expanded range of producers such as The Teeny Greeny Urban micro farm, Sagebury’s savoury gluten free range and organic sourdough loaves from The Hill Bakery alongside many well established family farms.
Live music will become a regular feature and we will have a jute eco-bag giveaway to customers on the day. Many stalls offer tasters and children and families are made particularly welcome. With an excellent café on site it’s a great morning out, there is adjacent parking and even a cash machine!
