New Welcome Signs at the C&G
The Cheese and Grain is proud to participate in a new campaign called Hospitable Frome that is being run by the youth charity Young People Frome, using a small Lottery grant. The first action by the campaign is to put multiple language welcome signs in schools and public buildings across the town.
The aim of the campaign is to welcome and support the migrants and asylum seekers and EU citizens, who have made their home in Frome.
The music performed at the Cheese and Grain comes from all over the world. International rock bands like Seattle’s Foo Fighters, North American Nahko & Medicine for the People, U.S rapper Grandmaster Flash, a sold out reggae weekend with performers from the Caribbean, Mor Kabasi with her Jewish ballads from Andalusia, Tinariwen bringing “desert rock” from Morocco, Indian dance music from the Bollywood Brass Band, the Celtic ballads of Cara Dillon, plus the Celebrate South Africa event are just examples of the diversity.
Our audiences are increasingly diverse too and that’s how we like it! Everyone is welcome at the Cheese and Grain.
