Legendary 70’s Folk/Rock pioneers Lindisfarne return to form a classic six-piece line up of longtime members fronted by original founder member Rod Clements.
With a repertoire of unforgettable songs like
“Meet Me on the Corner”, “Fog on the Tyne”, “Lady Eleanor” and “Run For Home” and a reputation for live performances second to none, Lindisfarne’s power to galvanise audiences remains undiminished and is guaranteed to get the crowd on their feet and singing along.
The legendary Geordie folk/rockers formed in 1968 with the original line up of Alan Hull, Rod Clements, Ray Laidlaw, Ray Jackson and Simon Cowe. Signed to Charisma Records in 1970 for their first album “Nicely Out of Tune”, the band built an enthusiastic following for their unique brand of bright harmonies and memorable live performances which quickly established them as firm festival favourites.

Their second album “Fog on the Tyne”, began their incredible commercial success propelling them firmly into the limelight with “Meet Me on the Corner” reaching number 5 in the Top 20. The album topped the charts and was the biggest seller of 1972 with the chart topping title track and “Lady Eleanor” climbing to number 3 in the charts.
The group won innumerable plaudits and were referred to as “The 70’s Beatles” and Alan Hull being described as the greatest songwriter since Bob Dylan.
Signing to Mercury records in 1978 led to Top Ten hit”Run For Home” which also became their first American chart hit. They continued to record and tour, playing alongside such luminaries as Bob Dylan and Santana.

In the 90’s they became known to a whole new audience when they duetted “Fog on the Tyne Revisited’ with Paul Gascoigne, reaching No 2 in the Hit Parade.
Sadly Alan Hull died in 1995 but the surviving members continued with Billy Mitchell from Jack the Lad taking his place until 2004, touring constantly winning a whole new legion of adoring fans along the way. However in 2004, they decided to call it a day. Since then a lot of water has passed under the bridges along the Tyne but the interest in Lindisfarne and their musical legacy has never gone away and you can’t keep a good band down! So we are delighted to say they are back on the road in 2018!
