Spring Season at the Cheese & Grain
After a record breaking 2015, Frome’s Cheese and Grain is set for another bumper year of live music and events!
Live music is alive and kicking in Frome with something to appeal to all tastes. Folk fans will enjoy Kathryn Roberts & Sean Lakeman on Friday 4th March, 60’s stars Gerry and the Pacemakers perform on Sat 12th March and there’s an Easter scrumpy special with The Wurzels on Friday 25th March. For rock fans there’s Dirty DC on Sat 2nd April, rhythm’n’blues stars The Manfreds on Sat 9th April, the incredible Jah Wobble & Invaders of the Heart on Sat 16th April, The Smiths tribute band The Smiths Indeed on Sat 23rd April and Buster Bloodvessel returns with Bad Manners on Sat 30th April.
Classical music is provided on Tues 22nd March by The Gelachter Wind Trio as part of Jackdaws – Year of the Reed and Frome’s very own Frome Symphony Orchestra returns to perform a diverse programme on Sun 24th April.
Fans of boxing don’t miss an evening of ultimate white collar Boxing with 30 fighters taking part in 15 bouts on Friday 11th March and Friday 15th April.
Frome Tattoo Convention returns on Saturday 20th – Sunday 21st February. Bringing you the best artists from the South West and around the UK, exciting competitions, great entertainment and not forgetting Lady Ink UK. Don’t miss out on the Saturday night show featuring the Lady In UK finals, Bloody Bones Side show and live music.
A new event for 2016 is the Frome Beer Festival on Fri 18th – Sat 19th March, with a selection of over 50 beers and ciders over 3 sessions. Ticket price of £10 includes a souvenir glass, programme and 3 half pint vouchers. There will be food available. Live music on the evening sessions. Another exciting new event is a Blues Guitar Workshop Weekend with Eddie Martin (renowned blues guitarist) 28th/29th May which features workshops, B&B accommodation, lunch and tickets to see guitar legend Eric Bibb.
We have a fabulous new market in the hall on the first Sunday of every month the Cheese & Grain Magpie Market featuring contemporary, vintage and craft items and gifts.
