AU439 – Myths and Legends of Ancient Greece

Please note that the session on 27th November will take place in Frome Canoe Club.

Journey back to the land of the Gods to explore several myths and legends that still resonate with us today, including the Trojan War and Odysseus’ ten-year journey homeward from it, Jason’s quest for the Golden Fleece and Theseus’ descent into the labyrinth to fight the Minotaur.

The course will also look at the fabled women who play key roles in the tales, such as Helen, Ariadne, Penelope, and Medea. And finally, we look at the psychological aspects of these myths and legends to see if there are any lessons that can be used in our everyday lives.
