Brit Award winning songstress Beth Orton returns to The Cheese and Grain for a special one off all seated solo acoustic gig on Thursday 24th June.
Beth’s previous sold-out performance at the venue remains one of our all-time favourite events and we are delighted to be able to welcome her back as part of our reopening week celebrations.
Beth Orton is one of the most original voices in music, a trailblazer who has paved the way for many. Her debut LP Trailer Park pioneered a synthesis of electronic and acoustic songs to huge acclaim, including two Brit Award and Mercury Award nominations. The follow-up Central Reservation brought international success and the Brit Award for Best British female. Further albums like the beloved Jim O’Rourke produced Comfort of Strangers and 2012’s Sugaring Season which Pitchfork hailed as “one of the finest moments of her career”, deepened the breadth of her craft, and most recently Orton’s sixth album Kidsticks was hailed as a radical reinvention. Beth is currently in the studio working on a new album.
