An Evening with Ricky Hatton” offers fans a rare, up-close experience with one of boxing’s most iconic figures. The former world champion, celebrated for his tenacity, charisma, and explosive style in the ring, will share personal stories from his illustrious career and life beyond the sport. It promises to be an evening filled with humor, inspiration, and unforgettable memories.
Ricky Hatton, a multiple-time world champion at both light-welterweight and welterweight, carved out a legendary career from 1997 to 2012. Known for his relentless fighting style and deep connection with his fans, Hatton captured the British light-welterweight title in 2000, followed by the WBU title in 2001, defending it a record 15 times. His breakthrough moment came in 2005 when he defeated Kostya Tszyu to claim the IBF light-welterweight title, and later unified the division by defeating Carlos Maussa for the WBA title in 2006.
In 2006, Hatton made a successful jump to welterweight, winning the WBA title against Luis Collazo before returning to light-welterweight to defend his titles against Juan Urango and Jose Luis Castillo. Hatton’s career featured 43 consecutive wins before his much-anticipated showdown with Floyd Mayweather Jr. in 2007 for the WBC welterweight title.
Although Hatton’s career came to a close in 2012, his record of 45 wins (32 by knockout) and only 3 losses cemented his place among boxing’s greats. This exclusive evening will bring you behind the scenes of his storied journey, from the highs of championship glory to the challenges of life outside the ring.
