During this second five week course, we will be returning to landscape and look at weather in particular. From towering thunder clouds, to soft mists – see how loose, wet-in-wet watercolours can help you.
Catherine is a watercolour specialist and SAA tutor. When Catherine is not demonstrating, she paints from her garden studio on a hillside on the edge of Bath. She exhibits nationally and enjoys painting portrait commissions for customers. She writes for The Artist Magazine and is a member of the Society of Women Artists.
Materials:
Aquafine Watercolour Artboard (A3) by Daler Rowney – strongly recommended. Try first from Catherine for £2 /sheet.
A one inch, flat watercolour brush
A fine watercolour brush
Water jar/tub
Kitchen roll
MDF/wood board A3+ and Prop (eg box/block/tin)
7 Tubes watercolour paint eg Cotman: turquoise; ultramarine; raw sienna; sap green; burnt umber; alizarin crimson; lemon yellow.
