This course gives students the confidence and practical knowledge to draw and paint beyond the studio and explore some of Frome’s visually rich open spaces. The course is drawing-based but students will be free to expand their choice of materials as the course progresses.
There will be ‘warm-up’ exercises, practical tips and demonstrations, but students will be encouraged to respond directly and creatively to the world around them, developing their own individual approach.
Students can use whatever materials they like but they will need to be portable. Hare are some suggestions:
- Sketchbooks (A4 or larger)
- Paper
- Drawing board
- Pencils
- Erasers
- Crayons
- Charcoal
- Drawing Pens etc
- Portable stool
- Bulldog clips
- Fixative if required
Spare paper and charcoal will be available.
