The Cheese and Grain is a not-for-profit, member owned social enterprise and also a registered charity. Its main aim is to promote and boost Frome’s social, cultural and economic life.

The Cheese and Grain has an important role in Frome because we can host meetings, large (with a capacity of 835 standing and 500 seated) and small (up to about 30 people in our mezzanine).

Every year we hold an annual member’s meeting (the Annual General Meeting – the AGM). This is the meeting where the membership elects the Board of Trustees. There’s plenty of time at the AGM to meet other members.

Want to join now? Contact us and ask to be sent a membership form, or ask at the box office.

Holding your own events or performance? It doesn’t matter where; we can sell tickets on your behalf, as we often do for other local venues, and events, including a range of outdoor music festivals. Our website gets over 20,000 site visits a month and so lots of people will see the publicity for your event. Tickets can be bought online, over the phone and in person at our seven-day/seven-evening a week box office.

Refunds

We are sorry but we cannot refund tickets unless we cancel the show and tickets will be refunded for the price paid sold for not including any service charges.

Age Limits

Our policy is children over 10 years for our live music events unless specified. We do not allow babes in arms.

Service Charge

To book online or via the box office our charges are £1.50 per ticket.

The Cheese & Grain have made a large investment and commitment to providing a ticketing service to ensure we can sell our own tickets and not rely on ticket agencies.

In order to do so we must add the costs of operating a staffed booking service, labour, IT equipment, the commission charges our Spektrix ticket system charge us, software development, card transaction fees, ticket stock and all other costs associated with running a secure and customer centric ticketing service. As such please note that any service charges, fees and delivery charges are not refunded.

If you want your tickets posted the charge is £1.75.

Accessibility

The Cheese and Grain has ramped access to the front door and both the venue cafe/bar and main hall are on a flat floor, with a wheel chair accessible toilet located at the front of the building by the box office. For those who need access to a hoist and changing bed, a spacious “Changing Spaces” toilet and wash room in the car park public toilet block. A key for this facility is kept in the box-office.

The Cheese and Grain is primarily a standing venue, if you require seating or any other requirements for attending an event please contact the programme and production manager Rob Dahl (rob@cheeseandgrain.com) as early as possible before the event date for assistance.
