Discover the fascinating history of Frome through the people, places and events that have shaped this Somerset market town.

We start with its founding at the end of the seventh century, continue through its industrial and economic highs and lows, riots, reforms and revolutions, the two world-wars, building right up to the present day with its recently acquired ‘cool’ reputation and largest number of listed buildings in Somerset. There will also be an opportunity to undertake your own research if so desired.
