
Back by popular demand. In 1685, the Duke of Monmouth attempted to take the crown from his uncle, James II. The rebellion was short-lived, lasting just over three weeks. A number of these days were spent in Frome and proved to be a key turning point in the entire campaign.
This one-off session will tell the story of Monmouth’s stay in the town and those from the local population who joined him.
