APPLICATIONS NOW OPEN

Are you an emerging artist or band ready to take your music to the next level?

 

The Cheese and Grain has teamed up with Arts Council England and will be working with a network of leading grassroots venues to launch an exciting new artist development programme, creating new opportunities for the region’s most exciting emerging talent.

 

For over 30 years, the Cheese and Grain has built a reputation for championing grassroots music, supporting artists at every stage of their careers while welcoming some of the biggest names in music to our stage. Our Bert Jansch Recording Studio has also become a destination for internationally acclaimed artists including Tom Jones, Big Thief, Los Campesinos! and Kiefer Sutherland. Now, we’re bringing that experience together to help develop the next generation of artists from our region.

 

Successful applicants will receive:

A series of paid live performances across venues in Frome, Bristol, Bath and Trowbridge

Professional recording session at our state-of-the-art Bert Jansch Recording Studio

Marketing and promotional support

Industry networking and career development opportunities

We’re looking for original artists and bands aged 18+ who are ready to take the next step.

 

Applicants must be aged 18+ and based in Somerset, Bristol, Bath & North East Somerset, Wiltshire, Dorset or Devon. Priority will be given to artists who are able to participate fully in the programme’s activities across Frome, Bristol, Bath and Trowbridge.
