“There’s a line in the E.E. Cummings poem Somewhere I Have Never Travelled, Gladly Beyond — ‘No one, not even the rain, has such small hands’ — which I once paraphrased to ‘Nothing can wash this away, not even the rain.’ I’ve always loved that sense of mystery and magic… I’ve never been a realist.” – John Bramwell, 2026
As the voice of I Am Kloot (1999–2014), John Bramwell earned a Mercury Prize nomination for The Sky At Night (2010), a Top 10 album with Let It All In (2013), and a farewell orchestral show at London’s Queen Elizabeth Hall.
Now pursuing a solo path, Bramwell continues to tour extensively, bringing his heartfelt songs and razor-sharp wit to devoted audiences across the UK.
His acclaimed 2023 album The Light Fantastic marked a joyful departure from Kloot’s darker tone, embracing harmonies, strings, and uplifting reflections on life and humanity. “These are the most uplifting songs of my career,” Bramwell says.
Celebrated for his captivating live performances and warm, mischievous humour, Bramwell remains one of the UK’s most distinctive songwriters. In 2025, God Is In The TV called his Beautiful Days set “the highlight of the weekend.”
Looking ahead to 2026, Bramwell embarks on an expansive tour of Ireland and the UK, continuing his remarkable musical journey.
