AGM AND ELECTIONS TO THE C&G BOARD

Share

AGM and elections to the C&G Board 7pm 14th November at the C&G

The Cheese and Grain is an incorporated registered charity owned by the hundreds of local people who have taken out membership.

Cheese and Grain members are invited to the 2023 annual member’s meeting (the “AGM”)

This is the meeting where our Board of Trustees are elected. There will also be reports on developments and where the charity’s policies can be made or changed.

Any member may nominate members for election to the Board and can propose new polices, which is done by sending in a proposal in writing – what we call a “motion”).

Nominations for election to the Board (which must be signed by at least two existing members) need to be sent in advance in letter form and posted to: The Chair of the Board of Trustees, Frome Cheese and Grain, Market Yard, Justice Lane, Frome BA11 1BE, or you can hand in the letter at the box-office. Nominations and motions must be received no later than 5pm on the 1st of November.

The Board has 12 places, but only a few places are available for election each year. Board members don’t get paid and shouldn’t have any commercial dealings with the venue.

Don’t confuse membership with our Friends of the Cheese & Grain scheme – which is different and about early gig notification and discounts – open to anyone but costing £20 a year (there is more information about this on the friends and membership button on the bottom left of this website homepage). To be a member you must live or work in Frome or the surrounding villages – it’s free and members get a nominal £1 share – giving them a vote at the AGM.

If you planning to come along on the 14th and take part, it is helpful if you let us know in advance by emailing office@cheeseandgrain.com or by speaking to our box-office staff.
