The machine, the planet and the people: what can a progressive government achieve in the age of climate change and artificial intelligence?

Former economics editor of Newsnight & Channel 4 News and a regular Guardian contributor, Paul Mason’s vast experience in covering current affairs has informed his renown work as a journalist, writer and film-maker. Paul will take to the stage to deliver this year’s Bob Morris Lecture, an annual highlight of the Festival programme. In this talk, Paul considers how traditional concepts of socialism, social democracy and Green politics need to change given the twin challenges of artificial intelligence and climate change.
