Frome Symphony’s annual visit to the Festival will showcase Eliza Talman, a talented trumpet player from Frome who is a former member of the National Youth Orchestra and student at the Royal Academy of Music. She will be playing Haydn’s joyous Trumpet Concerto. The trumpet also features in Beethoven’s Leonora Overture No. 3 where it is heard in the distance announcing the liberation of the political prisoner, Florestan, from his dungeon. The concert will conclude with Bruckner’s mighty 4th Symphony which the composer himself nicknamed ‘The Romantic’. The orchestra is conducted by Mark Gateshill.
