Buffalo Gals are famed for their Appalachian flat-footing dancing. Complete beginner or with some dance skills, come along and have a go. Stomping, clogging and ‘hamboning’ where you drum out percussion by slapping beats on your own body. This style of dance originated from travelers and settlers in the Appalachian mountains. A great joy is that it allows dancers to ‘freestyle’ – to make it up as the mood takes them. No experience necessary. Wear tap shoes or Leather/hard-soled flat shoes shoes + comfortable clothes. Enjoy tea and cookies, in the ticket price, and a discussion afterwards.
