During the course we will look at a different novel each week. There will be a tutor-led analytical discussion about the book, its construction, its author, and its impact on the reader. The novels are:

Talking To The Dead by Helen Dunmore
The Queen of the Tambourine by Jane Gardam
Engleby by Sebastian Faulks
The Outside Boy by Jeanine Cummins
The Standing Chandelier by Lionel Shriver

Students are strongly encouraged to read the novels before the course starts in order to get the most benefit out of the discussions.
