with Dawn Gorman
Join this friendly, supportive group to bring fresh, positive energy to your creative writing practice, whatever and however you write. We will use a wide variety of prompts including poetry, prose, art, photographs and everyday objects to help you free up your imagination and explore new ideas and forms in the company of other writers. Some writing experience necessary – that doesn’t mean you need to have a string of bestsellers to your name, just that you are familiar with the process of gathering together your creative thoughts as either poetry or prose.
Some 21 students from Dawn Gorman’s two ‘Positive Adventures in Creative Writing’ Frome Community Education classes collaborated with members of Frome Wessex Photographic this year, to produce a full colour, 58-page book of ekphrastic poetry and fiction written in response to the photograph group’s stunning images.
Dawn says: ‘The collaborative publication is a wonderful tribute to creativity of the writers and photographers involved, and is a perfect example of how the juxtaposition of one art form against another delivers a special kind of magic that is far more than the sum of the parts.’
The book, was officially launched at an event at Beckington Memorial Hall on December
16th , and is available for purchase direct from Dawn (dawn@dawngorman.co.uk), price £5.
