Andy Reilly, lead singer of SLADEST, began his journey as the entertainment manager at Pilton Working Men’s Club in 2003, booking some of the UK’s top tribute acts like T.Rextasy, The ELO Experience, and OAS-IS. But in 2008, everything changed when Andy and a few friends put together what was meant to be a one-off tribute to Slade for Christmas. The gig was such a runaway success that SLADEST was born and has been rocking ever since, bringing the unmistakable glam-rock energy of Slade to stages across the country.
SLADEST has made waves on some of the biggest stages, including three performances at the iconic Glastonbury Festival. One of their most unforgettable moments was when Glastonbury’s legendary founder, Michael Eavis, stepped in as guest lead vocalist for their specially arranged cover of “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You.” It’s a testament to the band’s ability to win over even the most discerning audiences.
By 2021, SLADEST had earned the coveted headlining slot at the annual Slade Convention, a highlight for fans of the iconic band. Their electric performance that year was followed by an equally thunderous return in 2022, supporting the all-female Slade tribute, Slady, and wowing the crowd. By 2023, SLADEST had cemented their place at the top, headlining the Slade Convention and proving they are the premier Slade tribute band in the country.
In addition to their full-band performances, Andy and fellow band member Nick will perform an intimate acoustic set at The Crooked Billet in Henley, alongside Slade’s legendary drummer Don Powell, Status Quo’s John Coughlan, and former Radio 1 DJ Mike Read.
Celebrating their 15th anniversary in 2023, SLADEST continues to rise, landing prestigious bookings and delivering the vibrant, high-energy experience that transports audiences back to the heyday of Slade. If you’re looking for a band that embodies the spirit, sound, and spectacle of the glam rock era, SLADEST is simply unbeatable.
