These sessions offer a chance to explore photography and image making in a relaxed and supportive environment, allowing you to become more confident with composing your images, and getting the shots you want, alongside practical tips and advice relating to your camera. With one to one feedback designed around your personal interests and skill level.
The workshops will mainly be about getting out and about photographing together, exploring the wonderful sights Frome has to offer, from nature to architecture, the views to news and issues you might want to vocalise.
There will be library and editing time based at the Cheese and Grain to give you a chance to find out more about a style of photography you may already be interested in, explore the development and history of the medium for inspiration sharing ideas with like minds.
You will also explore simple editing techniques, from cropping to colour control to create a portfolio of images you are proud of, but the main emphasis is on the taking of great shots, allowing the camera to become a companion.
Perfect for beginners but those with previous experience are welcome. You may use digital cameras, i-pads, phones, film cameras – all are welcome, cameras can be provided if needed.
