Enjoy watercolours in this immersive five-week landscape painting course with your friendly and experienced tutor Catherine. Learn how to plan a composition, maintain bright colours, control running washes and highlight your subject.

During the first five weeks we will be looking closely at shapes and structures, whether that is a figure in a scene, a still life or a grove of trees on a distant hillside.

Catherine is a watercolour specialist and SAA tutor. When she is not teaching, she works to commission and towards a solo exhibition in Bath in October. She writes for The Artist Magazine and is a member of The Society of Women Artists.

Materials:
Aquafine Watercolour Artboard (A3) by Daler Rowney – strongly recommended.
A fine watercolour brush
Water jar/tub
Kitchen roll
MDF/wood board A3+ and Prop (eg box/block/tin)
7 Tubes watercolour paint eg Cotman: turquoise; ultramarine; raw sienna; sap green; burnt umber; alizarin crimson; lemon yellow.
