Frome was officially founded by St. Aldhelm in 685AD, but much happened in the area throughout the centuries leading up to this formation. From prehistoric pathways and a Neolithic long barrow to Iron Age settlements and the coming of the Romans, the story of Frome before Aldhelm is one of discovery and surprise.
