The days are shorter, and the sky is darker, but the Cheese and Grain will be brighter than ever!

Throughout the whole of December, the Cheese and Grain will nightly become the largest advent calendar in Somerset! The public will be able to experience a light symphony projected onto the building synchronized in time with festive classics from over the years. The Cheese and Grain façade will dance, flash and be brought to life with a triumphant wash of colour and shapes, with a different Christmas theme every day showcasing a 10-minute light show looping every 20 minutes, as we countdown to Christmas.

Visitors will not only be able to experience the daily spectacular Christmas light show, they will also be able to indulge in homemade treats and grab some Christmas goodies for their loved ones from our very own Frost Fair, a brand new Christmas market taking place in the heart of Frome.

The Frost Fair situated alongside the Cheese & Grain will consist of a variety of stalls selling Christmas gifts and produce. Each stall will be undercover and dressed to look like a Christmas chalet, turning the whole area into a unique winter wonderland; the public will be able to watch the amazing light and music display and then potter around our newly created Frost Fair surrounded by a veritable feast of festive goodies. There will be a bar, cocktails, food stands, workshops, children’s activities, and even occasional visits from Santa himself!

The light show and Frost Fair will happen alongside the regular markets, concerts and World Cup coverage taking place inside the Cheese and Grain throughout December. From the 19th of December, the venue will also be offering 3 nightly sessions of winter roller discos in the Cheese and Grain hall up until Christmas eve.
