‘Front of house’ staff roles available


The Cheese and Grain in Frome is seeking to recruit new part-time and full-time “front of house” staff to work directly with the public in our foyer. A vibrant working space in a community-owned socially responsible venue with great live music and a rich diversity of events and activities.

Duties include café and bar work, work in reception and the box-office. A friendly and helpful attitude is important, along with a willingness to sustain, daily, a working knowledge of events and activities and to answer enquiries from customers and visitors.

Successful candidates will have the aptitude to learn how to operate our computer-based ticketing system, and to train to work in our café/bar. We are especially keen to recruit staff that share our values as a community owned, family friendly, not-for-profit social enterprise, registered as a charity.

Experience of in working music venues, hospitality/café/bar work will be an advantage but is not essential. Full training is provided. However, the ability to work a variety of shifts, including some evenings and weekends is essential.

Starting pay is £9 an hour (£8.50 for staff aged under 23) plus employer’s pension match- contributions of up to 5% of gross pay. Five weeks pro-rata paid leave and possibility of advancement in our growing social business.
