Invitation to tender: Sound & light engineering

Cheese and Grain is a not-for-profit, member owned social enterprise and registered charity whose main aim is to promote and boost Frome’s social, cultural and economic life, through staging a programme of performances and events running throughout the year.

Our main venue has a standing capacity of 835 and a seated capacity of 500. There are about 130 live performances a year on our main stage, including a wide range of popular music but also comedy and talks. Our bar can host audiences of 100 people, there also plans to expand events to include running shows at other similar size venues in the area as part of the programme of Cheese and Grain live events.

Cheese and Grain also runs a recording and rehearsal studio, although this is not part of this tender.

We are seeking a partner organisation/company to provide a reliable, comprehensive sound/lighting engineering service for all our gigs across all our venues. The partner will maintain the venues PA equipment and lighting to a high standard and liaise with artists, promoters, venue staff, visiting engineers and other stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of events. Payments will be in two forms: an hourly rate and a set monthly retainer payment.

If your company is suitably qualified and experienced in this field and able to provide year-round reliable/without fail service and would like a tender pack, or would like further information, please email rob@cheeseandgrain.com

Tenders will need to be submitted, on the application form provided, by the 29th April 2021, with references providing proof of financial stability and the capacity to deliver the service. All bids will be reviewed by the Bid Committee drawn from the venue’s management Board and those shortlisted will be invited to a site visit/information session prior to formal interview.
