The Cheese and Grain are delighted to be announcing today that from May 2022, our programme team will be handling the booking and programming for live events for a new 100 capacity venue in Frome, The Tree House.
The Tree House is the new name for popular Frome pub The Vine Tree’s 100 capacity upstairs function room, which is currently being turned into a venue space ahead of the venue’s summer opening.
The venue will allow the Cheese and Grain to bring intimate shows with established artists as well as new up and coming talent to the area, with a focus on being able to provide more live opportunities for local talent. Locally based artists and promoters will be able to use the venue free of hire charge.
Programme Manager of the Cheese and Grain Robert Dahl states “Frome has always had a vast array of talent, so much so that it is not always possible to showcase it all at our larger events. By working in a more intimate environment we will be able to work with emerging artists, as well as providing a space for local bands and promoters to grow. It is the venue’s intention to use this space to showcase amazing acts we haven’t been able to work with previously and use The Tree House to help develop artists . This will give artists the opportunity to grow their fan base in the area to allow them to go from playing here to headlining the Cheese and Grain itself. ”
The Vine Tree’s Landlord Andrew Shaw believes that “By teaming up with such experienced event organisers, such as The Cheese and Grain we will be able to ensure the new venue is able attract the very best possible acts to The Tree House. I am also very mindful to ensure local talent gets to perform on our stage.”
